When I was a little kid, I thought I'd join the Burger King Kids Club. The application said to ZAP! it into the mailbox, which is exactly what I did. I filled out the application, put it in an envelope, drew a ZAP! lightning bolt on the front and mailed it. No address, no stamp. I figured the post office knew what ZAP! meant.
I was wrong.
My application was returned to me, undelivered, and I was so utterly crushed that I never applied for the Burger King Kids Club again. In fact, I never sent away for anything else because I was sure the post office would fail me every time.
Three months ago, I tried again. I sent four UPCs to Quaker Oats for a "vintage" Cap'n Crunch t-shirt. I was sure it would never work since those UPC deals always seem to be scams.
But today? Today there was a package in my mailbox. A package containing a friggin' t-shirt! My faith in the world has been restored!
