Running at Night

I'm into my second week of C25K. It's going alright. Tiny bit sore, but I honestly expected to be sore before now. Obviously I've been running at night.

Pros:
1. the temperature is cooler
2. it's more private
3. it's when I have time to run
4. no people in my way
5. less likely to be hit by a car

Cons:
1. raccoons
2. can't see potholes
3. loose dogs that attempt to chase us, then realize Kaylee is a Doberman and run away
4. I'm wide awake late into the night
5. I'm all HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPO! ... late into the night.

Ah well, could be worse. I could be not running at all.

  1. Whoa! That's a nice list though. Still thinking here if I will change my schedule of run.

  2. Heh, I've got similar reasons why I walk/run at night too. The best one though, is that nobody is around to give me "tips" on whatever I might be doing incorrectly at the time. People seem to think that I am not doing anything right (landing on my fore/mid foot instead of heel, NOT yanking my dog around, letting them come near him to pet, not using a flashlight, etc.) and that I need instruction less I do something horribly wrong and mess up my feet or dog.
Dealing with the raccoons are totally worth it.

  3. Really love your dogs and blog-you should join Pinterest. What breeder are your dobies from? They are some of the best looking ones I have seen in the US.

  4. Keep up the good work! I run at 5:30 a.m. for the same reasons. although it has its own obvious cons.
